As an animal owner and lover, I feel one of my missions in life is to be a part of eliminating the killing of sheltered animals! Approximately, 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized (670,000 dogs and 860,000 cats), each year! This is so sad, and we all need to get our pets neutered and spayed, including the ones on the streets, to help cut down on births. Then we have the ones who are abandoned and abused, who also end up in the shelters. In my opinion, there is a need for harsher penalties for people who are cruel and not responsible pet owners!
