I thought I would share different ways people are getting in touch with their spirituality around the world. I find it interesting how other humans connect with God or a Higher Power.
Spirituality is seeing the world differently by developing your mind, body, energy, and emotions and taking them to a much deeper level of understanding of life in this world. The questions and answers that the human mind has thought of since the beginning are when the spiritual journey starts, such as: Who am I? Why am I here? Where do I go when I die? Is there a creator?

Spirituality means different things to different people, who adopt different practices for their own spirituality. Some believe it is becoming part of a religion, participating in their religious practice, and living what is proposed by that religion.
Then there are people who prefer connecting with their inner-self and to the Supreme Being practices, such as meditation, yoga, and offering private prayers. When we start to put thought into these questions, we start a journey in which we feel connected with a much larger universe, and with time this connection keeps getting stronger.
Spiritual practices are any act done with the purpose of developing a greater connection with God/Source/Divi 0ne/Spirit, around the world including prayer, meditation, yoga, Tai Chi, and Sufiism, to name a few. Mystics often only perform regular spiritual practices.
PRAYER
Prayer can be misunderstood as many do not do it to be on a personal growth path, instead, they are asking for this, that, and everything. Prayer that is communicating appreciation opens the door for knowing ourselves to be free in a way that groveling cannot. To know who we are!
YOGA
The word ‘yoga’ comes from Sanskrit, a language from ancient India, which means to ‘yoke’ or couple the spirit to the body. There are plenty of yoga teachers today who focused more on fitness, while the original purpose of yoga with yoga gurus, was to develop awareness, be in control of themselves, and be in a higher state of awareness with God.
I find yoga a way of connecting my mind and body in a way to feel relaxed and alleviate stress. Some of the best countries that practice yoga are India, Thailand, Costa Rica, Bali, and Australia.
MEDITATION
Meditation is a form of spiritual practice followed by a number of different traditions, although many of us are most familiar with the various Buddhist sects, such as Zen or Tibetan. The purpose of meditation is to detach from your thoughts to recapture and restore a sense of peace to our lives.
Move into a level of deep peace that is sometimes referred to as ‘The mind of God’. India is the most involved country in meditation.
TAI CHI
Tai Chi is much like yoga as it stems from the traditions of China and the Far East, and is a form of movement that joins together both body and spirit. There are great benefits to daily Tai Chi practices and many Chinese elders practice each morning out in a public place in most parts of the Far East today.
SUFISM
Sufism is when the Whirling Dervishes, who are a very small percentage of the Islamic faith, perform a religious dance that originated in Turkey, to express emotion and achieve the wisdom and love of God.
This involves more than just spinning around, as it includes a set of protocols, chants, and body postures with the same intent, like all spiritual practices, to connect directly with the Divine/Allah/Source. Sufism is popular in Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and Senegal, where it is seen as a mystical expression of Islam.
BUDDHISM
Buddhism is the world’s fourth-largest religion with followers known as Buddhists and is an important religion in most countries in Asia. Buddhism is surrounded by traditions, and spiritual practices largely based on original principles credited to the Buddha.
Buddhism is a condition of lasting, unconditional happiness known as enlightenment, with understanding the law of cause and effect, using meditation to gain wisdom and develop compassion. Tap into our potential!

Do you have a daily spiritual practice? My spiritual practice is praying and talking to God every day. Opening my mind and thoughts to new ventures.
